Living every moment to the most, and despite constant back pain, enjoyed a very rewarding career in the music industry, playing his own music and also becoming a professional manager. There are fond stories of grand dinners out with many well known bands - Swedish pop sensation ABBA, for one! But lifestyle factors and instinct lead him to search for more and it was at this time that he stumbled upon the Reiki phenomenon through a friend. The first time he experienced it he admits he was "not too fused" about it, and felt the particular method of teaching did not work for him.
But later on meeting his mentor and trainer of a Reiki school to which he really felt drawn, he actually felt a very real feeling of electricity. He remembers the healing energy felt quite tangible, and this precipitated a momentous change in his life - from a deep place inside his heart came avery strong urge to pursue this more thoroughly.
Dez continued learning and growing, meditating and reassessing his dietary regime and, most importantly, practiced Reiki on himself regularly and soon started to notice the lower back pain he had suffered for most of his life was gradually starting to get better.
Today, he gleefully exclaims, that in place of the "painful electric shock - like pains, and feeling the shards of bones (in his lower back), now I feel completely healed."
He credits this miraculous healing to the Reiki he has applied to himself for many years.Now a practitioner and teacher of ten years, he is also quick to note his is not the only success story.
Dez continues: " I guess I do feel that I am blessed and also honoured to share this gift with those who are ready to receive.
"It is obvious that there is a genuine joy, and a path made clear in the practice of Reiki for Dez.
From the ancient texts of Tibet and India, the world has given us yet another blessing to help unravel blockages, to assist us to focus our energies towards evolving ourselves through healing. A myriad of profound healing 'miracle' stories have been told, and science can offer no explanation for Reiki's effectiveness. Yet, today, many conventional health workers, even in our mainstream medical institutions, do recognise its blessed healing attributes, as the world slowly begins to embrace all forms of self empowerment.
